What is Teacher Horizons?

Teacher Horizons is a community of over 300,000 teachers and leaders from all over the world. It has been built by educators, for educators, to offer support, inspiration and advice on the journey of international teaching. We encourage and enable teachers to connect with each other, explore opportunities and share experiences at each and every step of the way.

Since being founded in 2011 by a team of teachers and international school leaders, Teacher Horizons has become the world’s fastest-growing international teaching community, fostering partnerships with thousands of international schools and placing teachers in over 70 countries annually.

Teacher Horizons works collaboratively with teachers and schools to create a valuable resource - a home for the international teaching community.

Why teach internationally?

As international educators, we understand that teaching abroad can be an immensely enriching and rewarding experience for teachers and leaders and, as a consequence, they become more inspirational teachers for the students they encounter along the way. 

Teaching internationally fosters an understanding and appreciation of other cultures and communities, facilitating a level of integration that is impossible to attain through a short-term visit. This makes teaching abroad a mutually beneficial experience that can shape both the teachers themselves and the communities they are educating.

Why Teacher Horizons?

The leap into the world of international teaching can be a daunting one. 

While teaching abroad is an incredibly rewarding journey, moving to another part of the world undoubtedly adds additional factors and considerations to the already complicated process of finding and starting a new job.

So where better to explore opportunities and turn for advice than a community of more than a quarter of a million teachers, many of whom have significant first-hand experience and a deep understanding of this step into international teaching?

We have Advisers based all over the world to provide a diverse network of support. Each of our Advisers has first-hand experience teaching overseas, so they are well-equipped to help you on every step of your journey.

Charity and social responsibility

Teacher Horizons aims to contribute to the international teaching community at each and every level. This is why, every year, we donate 10% of our profits to education charities in developing countries.
