Location
Falkland Islands Schools – IJS&CE primary section, Falkland Islands
Description
Are you an experienced Senior Leader with ambition and who can demonstrate success in raising teaching and learning standards? There is an exciting opportunity at IJS&CE to be the next Manager of Remote Education (Camp Education). You will be joining a school that is extremely proud of its heritage and is at the heart of its community. Living and working overseas in this unique setting, you will be part of a team delivering the National Curriculum for England, enhanced by the local context including local History, the environment and our cultural heritage.
We recommend emailing to arrange a pre-interview conversation with our Principal Shelley Short about this unique role. To do so, please email Mrs Thain in the school office [email protected] to arrange an appointment.
The successful applicant will lead and support a dedicated team of Settlement Teachers, Travelling Teachers and Distance Learning Teachers who work across the Islands in remote teaching and learning settings to provide an effective education to children living in rural Falkland Islands. Applicants will demonstrate successful leadership experience, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to make a positive impact on school improvement through modelling high quality teaching, and coaching and mentoring teachers. This includes travelling across the Falkland Islands to the school settings to support, coach, mentor and quality assure educational delivery - possibly one of the longest learning walks you'll ever do! This is a senior leadership role which also includes whole school responsibilities at the main school in the capital city of Stanley.
Our well established and fully inclusive school, Infant Junior School & Camp Education, is seeking to recruit a motivated, organised and experienced Senior Leader to start in late August 2026. The successful applicant will join a well-resourced school with a supportive staff team and students who are keen to learn.
