Location
Falkland Islands Schools – IJS&CE primary section, Falkland Islands
Description
Our well-established Primary School is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, creative and experienced Teacher to join us in late August 2026 to take up the role of Travelling Teacher.
We recommend emailing to arrange a pre-interview conversation with our Principal Shelley Short about this unique role. To do so, please email Mrs Thain in the school office [email protected] to arrange an appointment.
Applicants for the post will have up-to-date knowledge and be experienced primary practitioners, particularly from Early Years to lower Key Stage 2. The successful applicant will work across the Falkland Islands in remote teaching and learning settings. They will travel to different the rural locations, live with families and teach pupils in appointed school rooms based on the farms. Travelling teachers are supported by a team but must be able to work effectively and independently at a distance from the main school site. Applicants will have very good interpersonal skills that will enable them to integrate effectively with the families and pupils they will live and work alongside. Please see the attached documents to find out more about this unique role.
This is a unique opportunity to experience life overseas whilst working within a familiar English school system. We are a values led organisation with our students at the centre of all that we do as a school.
